There is no security to speak of - sketchy drunks from the casino will wander your hallways all night. The beach is about 30 yards wide and closes at 6pm. The rooms were damp and gross.The food is bad and the 10oz (yes, ten ounce) beers are $*. The casino is totally depressing (hope you like one cent slots). The staff is curt and annoyed by simple requests. But the worst part is the overserved customers that cause trouble - the hotel staff simply open a room and dump them in there. This means that you could, like we did, have a drunk guy screaming in the room next to yours from 11pm until 4am. Calls to the front desk do nothing; they simply claim that it is an emergency and that the problem will go away soon. Finally, at 3am, they offered to move our room, but at 3am I wasn't up for it. I stay in Marriotts over 100 nights/year and have been to over 20 this year; this is unequivocally the worst the brand has to offer. I suggest you avoid this hotel at all costs - I've had very good experiences at the Ritz for the same price. Marriott coporate - come have a look here, this is abysmal. PS - most of the positive reviews you're reading are written by the hotel staff

I thought the hotel and staff were good. The beach and ocean were very nice.San Juan itself is a disappointment though. The only problem at the hotel we encountered was on our check out date the hotel insisted on cleaning our room despite us still having a few hours to check out. It made it difficult as everytime we went back to our room, housekeeping was there among our suitcases we were trying to pack. Despite our protests they kept coming back. We finally did not return until 2 hours later, housekeeping was long gone by then.

THE MARRIOTT RESORT & STELLARIS CASINO WAS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR MY SON'S 21ST B-DAY. THE ENTIRE STAFF IS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. LOCAL RESTAURANTS ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE AND THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING GOING ON. WE'LL BE BACK SOON!!!!

Great hotel. Great Breakfast Buffet. Great Beach. Pool was OK. A bit shallow and small. The only problem was that we were suppose to have 2 double beds, and were informed on arrival that the only rooms available had 1 King bed. We were travelling with 2 kids so I was quite upset. We made it work the first night with a cot and a pull out chair bed. The next day the front desk called us and offered the correct arrangements. That was unexpected. Also, the Italian restaurant in the hotel was very good. My wfe was impressed with the workout room. The tennis courts were in great condition.
