The Morningstar Beach is Beautiful and the best part of Frenchman's Reef, The rooms were clean, but only average in quality. All Dining and resturants in Frenchmen's reef was of POOR Quality and VERY expensive. We usually ate breakfast at the Morning Buffet ($* / person) which was the only fairly decent dining experince. After the First two evening meals we took a taxi to outside resturants which proved to be superior valve. (A little cheaper but far greater Quality.) They make you purchase coffee in the morning from the Hotel Store ($*/cup), no complimentary coffee in the lobby or resturant lobby. The bell hops, front desk, "AT YOUR SERVICE" and Adventure desl people were great. We were at the Frenchmen's reed for 10 Nites.

Unless the couple that stayed in early August '09, my family of 4 had an awful service experience at this hotel. We booked a room for 4 and checked in to a KING size bed. We called the desk and was told there were no rooms available with 2 beds--the hotel was full. Offered another room the next day BUT we would have to check out at noon and wait 3 hours to check back in at 3. No offers to compensate for the incovenience. When we asked if they could comp a meal or anything the answer was NO. We asked for TWO roll away beds; they brought one. We finally received the 2nd roll away at 10 pm. In addition, we asked if they could provide documentation that the # of guests was communicated incorrectly by Travelocity...the answer NO. At one point we said we were considering leaving the hotel and frankly, they didn't even care. Everything there is expensive..to have a pool mat costs a rental fee at a hotel that costs $300+ a night???? Will never stay at a Marriott again. SUGGESTION--the locals recommend Wyndham Sugar Bay near Koki beach.

My girlfriend and I spent three nights at the Marriott Frenchmans Reef in early August '09. We found a local grocery store on Highway 30, on our way to the hotel from the airport called Pueblo. It wasnt the nicest market but the prices were reasonable. We stocked up on the essentials: beer, rum, milk, cereal, and snacks. I strongly recommend doing this as meals at the resort and local restaurants are pricey. Upon our arrival to the hotel we were given a room on the first floor, room 1104, and were appalled at the conditions. The hallway was dim, moist, and had a disgusting odor. It resembled a dungeon. We made it to our room, which was nice, but still smelt foul. We immediately made our way back up to the front desk and discussed these issues with a manager. The manager was very apologetic and was quickly able to find us a new room on the top floor. We made our way to the elevator and arrived on the 8th floor. Finally, we had found what we had expected. It was a beautiful "resort view" room which acually had views of the mountains and water. The room was clean and offered two safes, a refrigerator, and a flat screen television. We used the beach-side pool everyday on Morningstar beach and enjoyed the amazing views. We also spent a lot of time at Coco Joes which is the beach side bar. Strong drinks and decent prices. The resort offers an "adventure center" which assists guests in planning outings. We took a half-day sailing/snorkeling trip on the "Fury" to Buck Island and had a great time. The captain was hilarious and the snorkeling was awesome. Swimming alongside sea turtles is something everyone should experience.
